Membership

As the Wales Seed Hub grows, we are always on the lookout for new members to work with us and increase the diversity of Welsh grown seed. Members must meet the following criteria:

  1. Able to grow high quality seed crops with good crop records.
  2. Have secure access to a space in Wales to grow seed crops. 
  3. Willing to work cooperatively with other members to ensure the smooth running of the Hub.
  4. Have a high level of growing experience and a good understanding of crop lifecycles.
  5. Grow to agroecological (or organic) principles.
  6. Have some training or experience in seed production.

We ask that you meet one of the following requirements for experience:

  • Have completed the “Year Long Seed Production Training” with the UK Seed Sovereignty Programme
  • Have had some professional training in seed production
  • Can demonstrate a high level of practical experience in seed production

 The application process is as follows:

  1. Complete the form and send it back to contact@seedhub.wales
  2. If your application is suitable, we will arrange a site visit from one of our members.
  3. A recommendation will then be put to the Wales Seed Hub board for decission. 

We are accepting new membership applications throughout the year but new membership decisions will not be made until the end of August.

We will induct successful applicants from September, ready for crop planning meetings in October / November.
