An improved version of the standard ‘Moss-curled’, this is a sturdy and reliable variety of the classic curly parsley, so it’s no surprise it’s an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Every garden should have a nice big patch of parsley. With its tightly ruffled leaves, it’s compact and bushy, so great for suppressing weeds, but will grow brilliantly in a pot too, and even tolerate a light frost. Curly parsley has a milder flavour than its flat-leaf counterpart, so won’t overpower a dish when used simply finely chopped and scattered.
Approx. 200 seeds
Botanical name: Petroselinum crispum
Parsley can be sown outdoors in situ in mid-spring, or earlier if sowing indoors. Sprinkle into in a shallow drill in a pre-prepared bed, in either full sun or partial shade, then cover lightly with soil; or sow indoors in modules, transplanting outside later. They can take up to a month to germinate, so be patient! Keep moist throughout the season.
