Sorrel has crisp, lemony-flavoured leaves, akin to a tart apple, that are pointed like an arrow. The younger leaves are delicious in salads and the larger leaves are traditionally used in soups and sauces in French cuisine.
Approx. 300 seeds.
Botanical name: Rumex scutatus
Sow in modules or trays from March until June and plant out at 15cm spacing. Pick individual leaves and cut bolting stems to promote further leaf growth.
